Default Now defunct scale rocket mfg? Lots of missile designs..

Who remembers the website from about 2000 or so that had dozens of scale rocket models, mostly mid power D/E designs. Lots of military stuff. Neat website, looked military. I think the owner was injured in a tractor accident on his farm? And the business closed. I bought and built probably a dozen of his rockets back then.

yes! that was the name! I still have several of his rockets. Did anybody ever pick up his designs and continue the business?

I've been out of the loop for about 10 years, doing other stuff. Just found a nearby place to launch rockets, so that has rekindled my interest. Living in Virginia, large open spaces are few and far between--most such areas are farms and they are always planted.

A couple of his rockets in this picture.

His website says it's for sale. Been like that for a couple of years now. I think Uncle Mike's still has some plan packs for sale.

Sadly, The Launch Pad is now defunct. It would be nice if someone bought the business and started manufacturing kits again, because they had some nice ones. All reasonably priced too, great value. If you happen to have one of their Pershing kits, you're lucky. They are in demand these days, and in the rare instances when they appear on eBay, they go in the $100-$200 range.

Thank you for the links. I've been out of the rocketry loop for some 10 years. Nice to see lots of new mfg's of scale models.

I flew rockets as a kid (Estes and Centuri) in the late 1960's and again in the 1995-2005 period with my son. Life intervened and much of my stuff sat in boxes until a recent move that revealed a new launch site.

Thank you. Working on my Semroc Saturn IB now. Sat in a file cabinet for years. Found it during the recent move.

Would also like to build a Titan 3C. Have plans, lots of supplies to do that but might try to find a vintage kit. I've built a Gemini Titan, Saturn V and a Mercury Redstone from scratch (The scratch built Titan is in that picture, the Redstone and SV shown are kit built versions). I'm a fan of the larger scale models.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I found those TLP kits to be lousy at best.
For their price I expect QUALITY balsa and DECALS without exception.
NONE came with decals, which adds at least $15 to the price of a kit that comes with random density LOUSY balsa. Yuck.
They were way over priced for what you got.
