No problems with mine, but I got mine several years ago direct from Shrox. The recent ones from Apogee could well be different.

Might be a good idea to scan the decals so new ones can be printed if needed. Actually that's probably a good idea with any decals, but I usually forget.

I'll be curious to see when jeffyjeep gets to the decals. Apogee lists them as being "vinyl", but I've also seen where folks say they're just self-adhesive stickers, which would be sort of disappointing in an expensive "premium" kit such as this.

Decals seem to be a troublesome area for so many kits.

The ones from Shrox were waterslide, of course. I don't think there's any white in them, so if Apogee supplies stickers I'd definitely scan them and print new ones on decal paper.

Note that I sprayed mine with gloss enamel, then applied the decals, and finally sprayed a dull coat. I like how that turned out.

I've built the Apogee Skonk Wulf and the "decals" were stick-ons.
The clear they were printed on seemed too thick so I re-drew the images
and printed some water slides.
Apogee might call them vinyl, but they are not the style of vinyl you get from
Sticker Shock where the images are cut out. The Apogee stick-ons have a clear border
area on them.

Here's the blog post with pictures:

My son built a Snarky several years ago. It had peel-n-cuss decals.

Yeah, I was hoping against hope that these three smaller models had something better, but I don't know why I would think that.

It's frustrating how difficult and/or expensive custom waterslides are (at least, if you want good light-on-dark printing and can't print your own).

I’m now in Havelock, NC, but I did look at the decal sheet last night. The decals are pre-slit, but (unfortunately) I don’t think they’re vinyl. They might be the partially transparent decals like the ones in the Aerospace One kit. I hope they’re NOT! IIRC, when I decalled the Aerospace One I had to lay white backing under all of the decals that went over all of the blue sections of the model or the decal would disappear.

We’ll see!

Well, they are very much like the peel and stick "decals" like in the Quest Aerospace One kit.
The Apogee stickers in my recent Skonk Wulf kit didn't seem translucent. They aren't like the vinyl you get from Sticker Shock.
They aren't cut to the ink edge, most have a clear border edge.

I'm home from Cherry Point for the long weekend.

I've glued the pre-slit belly scoop to the ventral fin, and t hen using a long piece of scrap balsa I lay fillets of 30 minute epoxy to the inside joints of the scoop tube to main BT.

Now that the scoop tube is registered to the undersides of the wings I apply fillets to the underside joints of the wings.

....and I'm ready to begin sanding!
