Way cool!

I'll be in vendor's row.

Default What's up with Hawks Hobby?

I'm gonna guess that Hawks Hobby is no more, Tis a shame, I wanted to build more of their upsized kits. Oh well, guess I'll have to upsize them myself now.

That is correct.
Ever since Loretta Hawkins died of cancer, her husband, Mark, has not restarted their Hawks Hobbies.
He had some very nice offerings and was planning some really cool new ones, too. I have their beta Bomarc still new in a bag!

Really fond memories of Mark and Loretta. At our first two NARAM's Loretta was SO kind to my daughter, making a huge fuss over her and making her feel so special. Wonderful human being that woman. I'm so thankful she was part of our lives.

I find NARAM to be a social event. The importance of competition left a long time ago. Not my clique.

It was sad that Loretta lost her batttle with Cancer.
Hard to believe Hawk's has been gone 5 years now.
Truly top-notch kits. I had two of their Super Orbital Transports...kept one and sold one last year.
Eventually it will get built....with R/C gear in the glider.
I think they produced them using Semroc parts...the overall sanding finish on their cones was up to Semroc standards (smooth) and unlike the rough finish on BMS parts.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I flew my HH "Bandit" last summer. Really nice flyer.

I need to get the decals on that thing. Painted, but still "naked."

They made their final NARAM trip before she died. She wanted to see as many people as she could. There's a picture of Carl and I with several of our rocketry friends during this time. I'm sure someone has a copy of that particular one.

We did supply them with their tubes, balsa and plywood parts, and rings. They had to abandon their rocketry business when a hurricane went through and destroyed all the parts we had just sent them for their next batch of kits. This was before they found out she had cancer.
