I got mine last week also. I flew one today, but picked the wrong rocket. I tried a D5-4 in a Semroc Lil' Hustler. The flight was OK, but ejection was well after apogee. The rocket was damaged but is repairable.
The motor worked great. It has a nice roar to it. I also liked the long igniter that came with it. I'm looking forward to Semroc and Quest coming out with some adapters so I can fly these motors on other rockets without having to improvise a mount. timmwood

I was able to fly one D5-4 motor at the SCRA launch in Los Angeles today/Sunday.
Rocket used was an Estes Eliminator kit. I made a 20mm/24mm motor adapter by taking an used D12 case, knocking out the clay nozzle and peeling the inside of the casing. Weight of the Eliminator with D5 motor was 6.1oz. There was little/no wind when the rocket launched. That D5 seemed to burn forever. The parachute deployed and the rocket was recovered undamaged. Next time, I will use a lighter weight rocket. Bob |

Just like an FSI rocket and motor. If the rocket was 5 ounces at liftoff, it would most likely have continued straight up all the way to an insane altitude. It was going straight up most of the ay, but during the last second of propellant burn, it started to arc over until it was horizontal. Way the heck up there, but horizontal. Ejection was still extremely high up there, just moving a bit fast.
