I'm glad to see Bruno Mars was chosen.

PEUKE and DOUBLE PEUKE !
I wish they would completely eliminate all this nonsense 'bubble-gum pop' baloney and just play the stinkin' game. Noooooo....it has to be made into some nonsense big deal that is useless to the TRUE football fans to appease a nonsense demographic that is meaningless.

Halftime shows aren't complete nonsense, GH... They fill up the field during the time you go deal with the brew and nachos you consumed during the first half, so you can make room for the brew and dogs you'll consume during the second half... Besides, it's always the second half where the real game begins...

+1 ! I like the '70's funky/soul vibe. Not the strongest voice but a solid performer, NOT a digitized/autotuned clone (Robin Thicke, I'm looking at you bud). |

Are you nuts? If there is no half time, when we will deliver all 3,218 pizzas called in during the first 3 minutes...

But I recognize the situation - big, big bucks at play here. Millions and millions and millions of dollars being spent by advertisers during halftime, not to mention all the other dollars from the rest of the game. But the key is that they are practicing Business 101 - strike while the iron is hot, charge whatever the market will bear. As long as it's working to their bottom line, they'll keep doing it this way. And I can't argue with them for that. But I prefer to tune out for that ~half hour and not contribute to the "DOUBLE PEUKE". If enough folks do that, they'll stop doing it. ... My son's a music major, classical guitar. I took him to a blues show in Deep Ellum recently. We had never been to that venue, and found that they cranked it up quite a bit more than most places, more like seeing a rock show at a major auditorium. So our ears were kinda numb the next day. I took the opportunity to share with Cory the need to protect his hearing. I told him the last thing he wants to do is end up like Pete Townsend, being profoundly deaf due to aural self abuse from all those concerts over the years without ear plugs. There's surely nothing more embarrassing for Pete, nothing that declares "what a dumb frick I've been all these years", than getting lost in the middle of a live Superbowl halftime show, in front of God and half the world, 'cause you ruined your own danged hearing by being a punk who thought he was invulnerable.
