Very sad news indeed, and my thoughts and prayers will be added to the growing community. I met them both a few years ago at NARAM, always a pleasure meeting the great people behind the businesses in this hobby.

Default Best wishes

Our thoughts & prayers go out to the entire family. Only met them in person once (at the NARCON in Rochester, MN), but I've never forgotten what a wonderful & fun bunch of folks they were. Be strong & cherish your time together.

Without a doubt, two of the nicest people I have met in this hobby, and this is such tragic news.

Does anybody have a current address where we could send well wishes for Loretta and her family?

It was posted on Facebook that Loretta passed in her sleep yesterday. Completely slipped my mind tonight until I saw this thread.

Very Sad. I hope her suffering was very little and short. My Mother passed due to this awful disease back 15 years ago and I saw first hand how it destroyed her. Was an ordeal that caused far too much suffering. My prayers and thoughts are with the Hawkins family.

Praying for Mark and the boys during this time....I lost my father to cancer and my mother is a cancer survivor, so I know firsthand what a horrendous disease it is to live with.

I only met Loretta and Mark once, but I spoke on the phone with them many times, and they are delightful people. All of us in the rocketry community will miss her.

I had retired my Hawks Hobbies Super Orbital Transport last year, but I'm planning on flying it once more at our April launch, dedicating the flight to Loretta's memory. I hope she enjoys the view.....
