I am so sorry to hear about this.

Bill was a great guy. I looked forward to seeing him at NARAM every year.
He flew many different types of rockets. I remember his 'Miss Formica' rocket at
several NARAMs. Bill flew hybrid motor rockets at NARAM-49.

A funny story. At NARAM-51 in Johnstown, PA, his cell phone rang out on the flying field. I only heard his side of the conversation so it didn't make much sense.
Bill told me after he hung up the call that one of his best customers was calling and needed a plumber. Bill had to explain that he was currently in Pennsylvania and he couldn't get to the customer immediately. Bill told the customer that one of Bill's staff would drive over to help the customer.

I will miss him.

Bill was one of the folks I wanted to meet last year at NARAM but never quite got the chance. Too late now

I always enjoyed his posts and know that his help with S&T was invaluable.

Another pair of shoes that will be hard to fill.....

Very sad news. I knew Bill from my days flying with CMASS - last saw him at NARAM 50. This is a tough one to take. My condolences to Bill's family, friends and CMAS members; We've lost a good man.

DARS hosted a NARAM down in McGregor (near Crawford, Bush II's place) in 2003, IIRC. I recognized Bill by his nametag, having never seen him before. But I already sorta knew him from r.m.r., still a popular forum for hobby rocketry at the time.

Bill always made well articulated, informed posts to rmr. He always contributed.

I recall introducing myself to him at the event, taking a moment to pay him a compliment, to share my gratitude for his posts.

Ever since, I've always seen him the same way - via his posts on several forums, he's always been that same articulate, friendly guy, always willing to take the time, to make the effort, to express his perspective in an informed manner, without introducing any extra drama.

So sorry to hear the news. RIP, Bill.

Very sincerely,
Doug

I have been on the phone, in shock, talking to CMASS members. They too, are surprised at the news. Bill was an uncommon gentleman and will be sorely missed.
