Default Sigh

Stupid rhetorical question:

Why are the idiot spammers/spambots targeting the Projects section of this forum? There are two of them in there now, but in no other section. Too bad that these morons have nothing better to do with their lives than put their crap on forums like this.

Their projects involve infesting your computer with evil.

And file complaints with their ISPs, if possible. Might not do any good, they might be off-shore...

When I was the forum manager of the PDRocketry's forum, I had to delete literally dozens
of spammers who'd just "joined." Many came from countries overseas. It became easy to
distinguish which were legit wannabe members or spammers. My job became mainly just that: Delete the spammers and keep the subject of the forum on model rocketry/space.
Until PDRocketry suddenly folded (something I learned after the fact).....

Scott's out of town this weekend and I've been out much of yesterday and today. We do our best to keep them out and remove the ones that get through asap. It helps a lot when you report the spammers post. When I see those e-mails I act on them right away.

You also need to delete their posts (and pics) ASAP; some underage rocketeers do visit these pages.

I think I know that. We got bombed last night by a particular domain and it takes time to delete / ban about 10 users and their posts. Everything should be cleaned up now and the entire domain is blocked from joining now. Let me know if there's anything anyone comes across that I missed.

That's what I figured, too, when I noticed about six of these popping up at the same time, that they were from the same place (or, as you said, same domain).
