Default I'll probably enjoy my vintage 1970's fighter jet model rocket

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...:EOIBSA:US:3160

I've got a couple of these that I've been meaning to build, but just for the heck of it, I thought I'd throw a bid on this one. My nephew is a Star Wars nut, and I figured that he'd get a kick out of it if I won, and that I'd get the kick in the pants I needed to finish one of mine if I lost. Well, I won. This one DEFINITELY flies! Guess I'll have to drag out the Big Foot pad sometime this week to make the 1978 experience complete.
But, seriously? What kind of rock would you have lived under not to at least be able to identify this as a Star Wars ship at the very least. Even my wife could have identified it as an X-Wing.

Ha! Now we know your real name is a***a just by looking at the winning bidder info!
Jet? Yeah, that shouldn't be too hard to identify...

Unreal not knowing it is an X-wing.
Looks to be in decent shape, excepting decals.

Yeah, but it's missing a fin and one of its "Orange Pincers"...

Hard to believe but my brother's fiancee (she's 22) hasn't seen the Star Wars films and doesn't know anything about it. My brother's buddy Clif hasn't seen them either (and he's in his early 30's...)

I guess not everybody is SW/Rocket nerds... shame... LOL

Later! OL JR

I like the general description:

"Vintage 1970's Fighter Jet... Used..."

Still looks like a nice purchase, Bill. At least it looks like the builder followed directions.

Yeah, I think the story was that he was a long-time science teacher somewhere. I lost out on an Orion and something else cool earlier in the week. Pretty big collection.

Nah, still Wallyum. Maybe they thought I was "Asshat" or something.

I think one of the other ones listed was the Centuri 'see through' Astro 1, also built. I thought about bidding on that one, as those don't come up on eBay much at all in any condition. In the end I passed on it since it was a bit rough (missing a fin, etc.).
