Default Estes Fin Template (PP-2?)

Here is a fin template that was submitted to me by Bob Kaplow. He thinks it might be PP-2. Thanks for the submission, Bob!

For anyone looking for Estes Fin Template PP-3 it can be found on this page:

I've have this one! I think it came with a designer's special.

As I recall, some of the fins correspond with kit plans in the old "Model Rocketry" book, aka Design Book.

I just tried it and it works fine. It brings up a page of a bunch of different items. You have to scroll down to find the template. Here's a direct link:

Yeah, I think that’s PP-2. I have two or three copies of that thanks to some eBay buys a couple of years ago. I’ll have to cross check when I get home. I’m across the country right now (helping at the TARC finals tomorrow).

I just finished building this using one of the PP3 patterns. I had cut it out a few years ago, but never got around to using it. This is built with some old Centuries ST8 and a custom nose cone from BMS that I’ve had kicking around for 30 odd years.
I enlarged the first stage fin ~5%. Just have to paint it now.

Sean:

I love that fin pattern. I've used it on a few models. It's an odd shape, not "space age"-ish; kind of has a mid-century aviation feel.

John LaBrasca gave me some BT-60 nose & tailcone sets, and I think I'll use an upscale of that pattern, in light plywood, for the fins.

Yeah, this is my favorite pattern on the sheet. Looking forward to seeing your BT-60 upscale.
