There are several places that will ship you Koegel's Viennas, including the Koegel Meats facility in Flint, Mi.

Default Not quite a chili dog...

Hi all,

Just made a couple of different dogs.

For Thanksgiving I made homemade spaghetti sauce (toms + fresh Basil and lean 'burger). Tonight I used it instead of chili sauce on the dogs.

So, fresh grated parmesan and cheddar (from the Wisconsin trip last month) on toasted buns, Koegel's Viennas, mustard, sauce, and kraut.

Yum! The flavor of the sauce still lingers...

Bob

p.s. those are Grandma Utz chips btw :-)

I just found out that I'm within walking distance of a place called Beach Castle Burgers.
The owners are part of the National Coney Island franchise of Detroit, MI. area.
The owners make monthly trips back home to stock up on Coney Island Hot Dogs. In October, they had a deal of 2 Coney's, 2 hand cut fries and 2 drinks for $7.99. I'm told the burgers are great and the locals are trying to keep it a secret for themselves.

That looks heavenly!! I'd kidnap the Pope for some Grandma Utz's right about now.

You guys are killing me! I'm a yellow mustard, raw white onions, and dill relish guy. And not too crazy about most ready-made relishes, sweet or dill, so I chop up Klaussen's refrigerated dill pickles (crisp!) to make the relish.

On a related note, I find most hot dogs at sporting events just plain awful. The ones at the Colorado Rockies games are cold, and the buns stale. (I haven't been in a few years, so maybe they got better, but I doubt it).

The best I ever sampled were Dodger Dogs. Nice and hot, and perfectly steamed buns. That was a few years ago, so I can only hope they did not degenerate into mediocre hot dogs like here at Coors Field.
