Now I'll have to buy two ! I flew my first two stage rocket since becoming a BAR and I'm hooked . A staged Nike-X is intriguing .

The Hobby Lobby in Flint Township, Mi carries all their normal Estes stuff still.
I buy all my Estes 29mm F motors there with the 40% off coupon...that puts the pricing right about where it's worth.
They discontinued carrying the F15-0 though, which stinks.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

That said, although its lineage is clear, it's interesting in which areas they decided to diverge from the original, like the orientation of the "US Army" lettering, placement of roll patterns on only half the fins, and the extra ring of bars underneath the middle set of fins. Had they wanted to, they could have made it a lot closer. I wonder if there were licensing issues in those days?

When I built this in the 70's I don't think I had any clue what prototype it may or may not have been modeled after, lacking the magic of Google Image search.

Note that the new Estes Nike-X has no "US ARMY", or the "skirting the trademark laws" replacement designation "US MILITARY". With the latter, at least you could cut out letters to form the word "ARMY".

I still contend the government has no right to restrict such usages. We The People paid for all this military hardware!

ABSOLUTELY...

That restriction was one of the stupidest things I ever heard of...

Just put an appropriate size and fonted decal with ALL the letters and let people put whatever they want on it...

I wonder if they kit a North Korean ICBM if Kim Jong Un will get a royalty?? LOL

Later! OL J R
