I'll be doing some more extensive test runs this weekend. From the kit I bought from Gordy, I think I'll be able to get the orangish-red (or is it reddish-orange ) color close to the original. From the quickie test run I ran before my daughter's wedding last week, I have high hopes.

The plus side is that if all goes well, different colors are minor change in the run. Of course upscale and down scale require new screens, but that is a matter of scaling on the "camera ready artwork" and if someone wants to go that route, it is a possibility.

The decal paper i have does not have the film typical with the printer run versions (although I do have some sheets of that stock as well, which may be more suitable for younger modelers) which means I can get a thinner decal, at least theoretically.

I like tbzep's analogy of a micro-brewery, but then when it comes to alcohol...
