Default FSI Viking III Decals

Pulled out my FSI Viking series from storage. Trying to get people in the section interested in some of the older kits/manufacturers. Noted I don't have a Viking III. So, gonna build a clone. Does anyone have the decals?

I don’t know. The one Viking kit I didn’t own. The Viking 1 I have is the BMS clone. I’ve got the fairing standoff pattern but nothing else other than the plans. I could probably cut and paste together decals based upon the catalog and header drawings. Artist I am not……

FWIW, I have a Viking 4 in the bag, and don't see any decals, though they could be tucked inside the instructions. Sorry, no Viking III.

Thanks. I still have an original Viking 1, Viking IV and Viking V in unopened bags. The IV and V come with decals. I know this since I built mine from original kits. I’m not sure about the Viking 1. My built one is from the BMS clone so I don’t know if they made decals based upon the catalog/header art work or original kit decals. I can’t see any decals in the bag. They may be in with the directions.

I think the first three all did without. When BMS kitted the Viking 1, Bill took the artwork off of the face card and made decals for the kit. I've never seen any for 2 or 3, but it might just be a case of some had them, some didn't. FSI could be like that. Some kits had matching fins, some didn't.

I remember back in the day, FSI kits seemed "random" at best....

Now what decals did the ViQUEEN come with ?

I built quite a few FSI kits in the 80's, and not one came with decals.

IIRC, the FSI Black Brant II came with some decals, but either they weren't complete or there was something wrong with them. I can't remember for sure which. I upscaled an Estes set for mine.

In my opinion, no decals=incomplete kit.
Probably why I had such disdain for TLP kits. For their price, those should have been complete.
