Default MPC Taurus-1 #3-0920 Fin Template Info

Jason (Blackshire) sent me more accurate fin template information for the MPC Taurus-1. Apparently the template scans I have on Ye Olde Rocket Plans are about 20% oversized. Here's the info he sent along with the fin scans below. Thank you, Jason!

Here are two scans of over-sized Taurus-1 wood fins and fiber fins (which YORF member “teflonrocketry1” very kindly made for me, from the fin scans on “Ye Olde Rocket Plans,” see: http://www.oldrocketplans.com/mpc/m...0/mpc3-0920.htm [he made his own two-ply fiber fin stock!]), and also scans of a fin outline from an original MPC Taurus-1 kit. Because the 6”/150 mm steel rule that I included in the scans may not show up well in the scans, I also measured the MPC Taurus-1 fin outline (I measured—carefully “eyeballing” it multiple times, for each dimension—to the centers of the ballpoint pen-drawn outline lines). The dimensions I obtained are:

Root Chord: 1-7/32” (31 mm)

Tip chord: 51/64” (20.5 mm)

Height (from fin root edge to fin tip edge): 1-1/8” (29 mm)

I hope this information will be helpful.
