It is very cool seeing this old stuff. I had one of the plastic Centuri controllers, but never a launch pad or one of the old-school controllers.

I saw one LIA-77 up on a shelf in my elementary school, and just after I first learned about rocketry I came across a family launching some ****-fine rockets from a LIA-77.

Thanks for posting!

One thing that in the early model rocketry days that Centuri had Estes beat hands-down was with their LIA-100 and LIA-77 launch pads.
Estes had nothing even close to comparable.
The Estes Tilt-A-Pad was workable, but the Electro-Launch was a bad joke compared to these two REAL launch pads from Centuri. Too bad they did not have longer production runs. They are perfectly acceptable now.
I would not have a problem using the LIA-100 even for small-H-motor rockets.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Default Lectra-Line Controller

Does anyone have one of the Centuri Lectra-Line Launch Controllers? Would like to have one or replicate one if specs were available.

Wow - I have learned so much from this thread .
For many years I have held on to this Centuri deflector . I always thought it went to a sawhorse type rail not on the wooden tripod.

Sometime in the 80s, I guess, when I got back into the hobby after school, I went back to the hardware / variety store that supplied me with rockets as a kid.

They had a whole box -- orange and white and black checks -- of those deflector / microclip units. Perhaps five were left.

I don't remember what I had in mind for them. They would be major collector items now, but when I was getting ready to move west I sold them cheap at a rocketry "garage sale."

So. Take-away. The units were sold separately. I am sure they could be stuck on a sawhorse.

That's the one I bought! Actually, I had two Electra-Lines. One I bought, one I got with a thrift-shop starter set a family friend gave me.

Sold both to a collector. They're out there somewhere, ready to be scanned and 3D printed!

Hey, come to think of it, that starter set had a LIA-50. The boxy wooden pad. I remember pinching squishy bits of fibrous asbestos off of the top. I don't recall if it had a igniter/deflector assembly.
