ISTR the fin cans were the same red-orange as the plastic nose cones Centuri sold (with black or white plugs for shoulder/shock cord mount)

I remember seeing a blue fin can in a bagged Enerjet 1340, but never the pink in this photo.

Comrades:

I love the pictures; that's what I was after.

Did you guys notice that almost no one is wearing a hat in the old pictures. There a couple of people shown who were definitely going to burn.

And a two-stage using the fin can. That's awesome!

I remember this image also. Seems like it was in an ebay listing for some rockets, though none in this box of kits was part of the ebay auction (and I can't recall why this image was even part of the listing).

I recall dropping a line to the ebay lister about the kits in THIS photo (because, wow! what a treasure trove it appeared to be). Alas, I never received any response.

I've been meaning to reply to this for a while now - sorry for the late response. The photos below are from the June 1972 issue of Model Rocketeer.

(Scott: YORF is not allowing me to upload right now - I'm getting a

"FORBIDDEN You don't have permission to access/newattachement.php on this server. Additionally, a 403 error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

As soon as the issue is resolved I'll post the pics. Bottom line is the Saturn V/Bug combination "...was flown many times"

Aaah, yes! I have that issue and remember the article but had forgotten about the X-24 Bug/Saturn combo launch photo.

As I seem to recall, the photo with Larry Brown and the other two guys at the launch racks was made on a newly built but as yet unopened highway overpass bridge (you can see the bridge guard rails behind them).

Thanks for posting.

Correct - I was going to post the article as well, but due to the issues with trying to upload I forgot about it.

Good question - I’ll check the article tonight to see if it’s mentioned.
