Default Centuri Little Joe II 1/45 on Ebay

This is not my listing nor do I know the lister, but thought I'd provide a link here for the (few, probably) who might not have seen this one on ebay.

When it was first listed a few weeks ago it was still in the somewhat tattered shrinkwrap. Price was fairly high and at $299 starting price for the current listing, some may still consider that too high. Box does have some rough corners.

That all said, it IS a complete and pristine (as for the contents) Centuri Little Joe II 1/45th scale kit. And it ain't been all that long ago that one of these on eBay with a starting price that low would have had bidders all over it. Hard times for sellers I guess.

Anyway, just FYI if this is one of your 'dreamships' from back in the day and you really want to snag one. It was certainly one of my dream kits and was for many others, too.

Here's the link:

Bummer. After today I'm not even sure I can afford the shipping.
One turned up at a QUARK launch about ten years ago. I got a picture, and waited all day for it to fly, but it never did, at least on that day.

I've never seen one fly myself. But I hope to one day. I've got one that I will be building at some point in the build que. And I do plan to fly it. That kit and building and flying a working Omega Cineroc combo are two of the 'bucket list' things in rocketry that I just have never done yet. The Omega Cineroc project is in the works now.....slowly getting the Omega finished. And hope to run a test strip of film through the Cineroc before too much longer (been some relatively new Kodak 8mm film stocks that I want to try in static ground tests before putting it in the air).

However, flying the Little Joe II probably tops the list but that will be a topsy turvy stomach day for sure punching that one off.

Years ago, Centuri offered a 29mm Enerjet mount for this kit to replace the 4-engine cluster.
Seems like a much better and safer way to fly it without damage.

The Centuri Little JoeII was a childhood dream; I've never even seen one. I have seen the full size mock-up at the New Mexico Space museum. I don't have the juice to buy an original Centuri one on eBay, so . . . .

I find myself in the unusual position of agreeing with GH, the Distinguished Gentleman from Michigan. I'd like a Sandman kit, too. If there's a run, I'd buy one. If you decide to do a run let me know and I'll start saving.

I have "most" of the parts to do some kits I am just at a slight impasse on a new and improved escape tower.

I just am not happy with using wood dowels.

For the new capsule I am leaning towards a cast resin. The master is complete.

I have some issues to work out yet.

How bout carbon fibre rods and epoxy glue for an improved tower ?
I'm MORE than willing to accept your OLD tower design; I just want a kit.

Please keep us posted! Is it 1/45th scale?
