Default What's up with Hawks Hobby?

Ok, I’ve heard that there are rumors’ going around that Hawks Hobby has gone by the way side and that maybe someone else has taken over our website. So since I happen to have the inside track to what has and is going on with Hawks let me take a few minutes to update and set everyone straight. First off the reports of our untimely demise has been greatly exaggerated, while it is true that we have had sales and production shut down for the last couple years, research and development has continued and lately Mark has been doing some machine work through Hawks. As a matter of fact a couple of months ago I renewed my DBA for another 10 years.

As to the website WE are the cyber squatters , sorry folks I’ve renewed our website but have yet to upload anything onto it. This will be corrected as soon as I solve my computer problems.

Now as to where we have been and what is going on here.
Yes we got hit by Hurricane Ike and lost a lot of our supplies, after that Mark was laid off work and it took a couple months to get a new job. Problem is that the new job didn’t provide the extra income to help get Hawks back up, so I decided to take this opportunity to go back to College and get my Associates Degree in Business Management. I have 1 year left to go. This year things had started to look up for us so we were hoping to be back up and running at least on a small scale this summer or fall, however we had an anvil drop on us. The Long and Short of it is that last month I went to the doctor and after many test they informed us that I have cancer and that it is stage 4. What this all means is that right now all our focus is on making me better. The good news for Hawks is that I’m training 2 of our boys to run / take over for me and WE WILL be BACK just bear with us a little longer.

We want to thank all our loyal friends and customers for thinking of us and your support.

Thanks for the update, Loretta!

You should certainly concentrate on getting through whatever therapies your doctors have lined up.

Between your degree and your sons being able to pitch in, it sounds like HH will be on a better foundation once the time is right to relaunch.

Good health and best wishes!

Loretta,
Thanks for updating everyone here regarding HH and how you and Mark are doing. Truly, two of the nicest folks in the rocketry business I have ever met, and I'm sure when you are ready to come back, I and we will welcome you with open arms and wallets!

I have been thinking of you and praying for a good prognosis. You are awfully kind to include us folks here on YORF as to your plight, and I expect all of us wish you nothing but the best in your coming travails.
Get well SOON!
You and Mark are very near to my heart. My prayers are with you.

I want to thank everyone for there good thoughts and prayers it means a lot to me.

Our Michigan family has strongly requested that we come up there for a visit given both my health and because my brother-in-law has been given a short time due to his cancer.

Sandman and anyone else who wants to see us: Mark and I will be coming to NARAM on Sunday so hopefully we'll see ya then.

Loretta
