Lee - that is a great idea.
I will try that on my next cluster build. Thank you for posting that.

Here is a close-up of the mount, with a cap screw and washer CA'd onto it -- so I don't lose the pieces. (Looks like I need to clean out the launch lug! The bottom of this is kind of ratty looking, too, when it's magnified!)
And a shot of the Cobra.

Lee- thank you again. Such a great idea for clustering. I have lots of hardware like that from my R/C days scattered about.
What is that beauty to the right of your Cobra ?

Most commonly you can just use some threaded rod with the appropriate washer and nut. I have used that on most clusters.
I have had a BMS Cobra clone kit in my build pile for years. Perhaps time to shake the dust off of it. Chas

DeWalt -- just about 5 weeks late! I'm going thru email notifications of posts and saw this. That metallic red one is just a scratch-built BT-70 model. Uses a 60-70 transition as a tailcone, obviously hollowed out for motor tube, and small shoulder sawed off. That paint is a Krylon X-Metal. I think it was discontinued several years ago. Came in red, purple (also nice), and also blue, I believe. I never saw that when I bought the red and purple. Also had a nice silver base coat that was not your typical silver. It looks more pearlescent. I have enough of each to do things like a nose cone maybe, and then it's gone. If it ever reappears, I'm buying lots! Also, I've started on my Super Cobra. It is BT-80 based, and I went with a four motor cluster of 24mm. Three motors and four fins is fine for the original, but I wanted to be able to go thru-wall with fin tabs between the motor tubes. Here is the mount, with threaded insert (10-24), and stainless cap screw and washer.
