Buttercup is an eight speed automatic. Update...it has manual mode paddle shifters! :-) How in hell do they get 485 HP out of 390 c.i.? Don't care...;-) Just kidding...
Bob p.s. my first car was a 1956 Chevy Belair 4 door sedan with a stone reliable 235 straight six. I did most of the maintenance, so easy to wrench.

My R/T is an auto as well, with the paddle shifters I don't miss the manual either, and it's much better in stop and go traffic, although I grew up on a manual....

The only time I prefer an auto trans is for stop-n-go traffic.
They are a bit better now with locking torque converters for mileage, but still don't match a manual with the heavy torque converter slinging around 20 qts of fluid. That said, Dodge really got it right with the Challenger. Very cool retro styling. My Corvette is my daily driver...110 miles a day...every day is a good day in a Corvette. I do 0-60 in First gear without shifting...hits redline but not the Rev limiter. Corvette has a full-sized "trunk" (back hatch) but only 2 seats.

Yeah, I don't like the looks of the newer Corvettes either... they look like a wedge-shaped doorstop. Now the early 70's Corvettes, like in Apollo 13... those cars were SEXY... all those curves... Later! OL J R

For lovely and wickedly fast 4 door sedan, I love the 2010 BMW M5 V10. Fun on the track as well.

I don't like the current C7 Corvette. Very angular and ugly.
Mine is a C6 which I find to be the best looking other than the C2 Stingray. My manager has a 1967 427 tri-power Stingray Corvette convertible.

Always thought the '63 Split Window Corvette was the prettiest of the vintage model.

From what I've learned in rocketry, combined with what racers say about rear-engined cars, I like the idea of front-engined race cars where the aerodynamics will push the rear end back into line instead of causing the car to spin. Along those lines, I'd love to see Indy cars go back to front-engined setups ala the USAC super-modifieds - then anybody could run at Indy and not need 500k$ worth of imported carbon fiber Doug .
