Default Some Pics

Haven't seen too many of these around so I thought I'd refresh some memories. Do you remember? Nasa Pegasus is a just finished repaint&decal original, Vindicator is same, Nomad original condition (many briuses and scrapes, but flew last month on C6-5 OK), SpaceShuttle repaint, Excalibur is scratch built. I love to look at new pictures of classic old rockets, don't you?

Default Thanx

Thanx for the comments, Bill and Al

I had to add canards to the Space Shuttle Booster. The thing took nose dives with the elevators up to critical. The shuttle was built 30 yrs ago but it WILL FLY AGAIN!!!!

I have been using ENVIROTEX Clear Sealer/Finish High Gloss for my decal sheets and as a gloss coat over Krylon spray paint. The craft store said it doesn't yellow so I hope he was right.

Every picture I see posted has an outstanding finish. What do you guys use? Its got to be compatible with different spray paints, right?

I'm sold of Future floor wax. I've been using it for the past year and really like the results. I've read that it doesn't yellow.

thanks :-)

on the four birds shown, no special tricks, really.. all are sealed with ' pine car' water based sealer ( works well, and I;ve had good result using it over TOP of old parts that were not sealed in the original build ( such as the Maxi Streak shown, just selaed it over the old paint, and it worked fine, did the same on the Multi-Roc booster ( original vintage booster, clone sustainer, nosecone not painted yet,as I built the bird while waiting for cones from BMS ).

Paint is 'best buy' cheap enamel on the Streak,Mark 2 (see my post someplace,re problems with the black on the Mark 2),and Zebra.
The Multi-Roc uses rustoleum , after hearing it would not blush like Krylon , had to try it out - very high gloss and no blushing, but it does seem a lot thinner than others I use, and got a couple of runs that needed some attention ( just painted the Semroc SLS Scorpion yesterday with much lighter coats, and still got one run / sag, so don't think it's "me" .

none of those have been clear coated as yet. ( I;ve always used Krylon, but lately have had problems witht he 'blushing' . had my Custom Rockets Engage all nice and great looking, then clear coated it and the red blushed terribly, will need repainting in the spring :-(

Are you airbrushing? If so, what pressure?

I once had the IPMS book which had a suggested setting, but it's been so long ago...
