One of my personal favorites in the 'this never should have happened' category.

I remember a Cadillac dealer giving them away with the purchase of a new Cadillac.

The first Hyundai's imported into the USA were at least as bad as the Yugo.
Total POS turds.
I would never consider purchasing a foreign headquartered brand car even if made in the USA unless it is a European Prestige brand, and even then it would ONLY be for a second "toy" car, not as daily transportation.
Many brands I would not even be caught dead sitting in, let alone riding anywhere in.

Then again, I would never buy an American motorcycle either as not a one made-in-USA motorcycle even sounds like the way a motorcycle should sound...also if I wanted a vibrating shaking mess, I'd ride a PAINT MIXER, not some grossly overpriced
Hardly-Movingsen.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I worked with a guy who bought one of the early Accents. It felt like it was made out of thick aluminum foil instead of sheet metal. His wife hit a fawn on the way home from work one morning and it just KILLED the car. For some reason the insurance company decided it was worth fixing and several weeks later they got the car back, but it ran funny. A week later it died completely because what passed for the frame had been bent and the engine and transmission no longer mated up correctly, causing them to eat each other to death. Never found out the final story, but last I heard the insurance company was swearing that everything that had happened after the car was "fixed" was another matter entirely and not their fault.
That said, both my 2004 and 2010 Elantras have been fantastic. I would imagine that a 2016 will be in my future unless I feel like I can pull the trigger on my dream car, a VW GTI.

Gh,

You'll be glad to know I have an 07 G6, two 02 Impalas, a 99 Lumina and my 07 Impala SS. I think all four of the W bodies were made in Canada. I spend a fair amount of time working on them, but I'm still quite pleased with the lot.

Oh, and I got my eye on a 99 Grand Prix Would love to get a later GXP to go with my SS

Doug

It appears the South Koreans have taken a page out of the Japanese playbook. They've improved their quality dramatically over the years. Their workmanship and reliability appear to be world class now. But their styling is still lacking. They're getting there, but when I look at the cars, I want to move the body lines around

That said, they could take another page out of the Japanese playbook and start ripping off the looks of others In fact, one of the Hyundais has some sheet metal that reminds me a little bit of a Rolls.

Get one. Don't wait. Spend the kids' college money if you have to.

I got a mild hot rod a few years ago when my wife bought me an SS Impala. It's the perfect redneck car - fits me like a glove Wished I'd bought something like that 20 years earlier
