Excellent, I think a Bandit/Vega order is coming up!

I noticed the instructions say it was introduced in 1979, as 1320. The Starship Vega was originally introduced in 1973 as KC-4, and re-released in 1979, as 1320.

The Q-modeling upscale has spoiled me--I'm going to have to scrounge up some springs and make that landing gear functional .

Hmmm. You know how Carl offers the Number 8 booster as an add-on to one of my favorite kits? I see a similar possibility here. Three compression springs, extended length dowels, three BT-5 couplers, six rings to cap the couplers and three small travel stops. Easy to do in my head... although in looking at the in structions all you need to add are the springs, three extra rings, and travel stops.

Back in the 90's, Yitah Wu was giving away springs to do just this. I have a set sitting here somewhere. Here are his directions to accomplish this feat.

John Rolph also designed a way to do this. Here is his design:

It was actually introduced as part of the Citation line in 1971!
