Here's my primered Expedition.

This cool model looks like the result of a transporter accident when a SPEV, a Vostok, and a HoJo were on the pads.

Cutting the (3) compound curved tubes wasn't as difficult as I'd feared. Instead of using a blade, I used my sharpest straight scissors for the straight cuts and then switched to my curved tracheotomy scissors for the curves at the top.

Looking good.

For my prototype I used a brand new #11 knife blade. For the six PP sample kits I got from China I used a good pair of scissors like you did since I had to cut 18 of those parts. Both methods worked just fine for me.

John-
If you think you have tough regulations you have to pass in the toy industry, try being an engineer with an OEM in the Automotive industry. The U.S. automotive industry is the most OVER regulated industry in the world. WELL over 50% of the cost of each vehicle is due to regulation and standards most consumers would opt-out of given the choice. I know I would opt-out of at least 75% of the 'safety-specific' features and 100% of the environmental/emission control devices. added weight that reduces PERFORMANCE.
That said, if we want something changed in the supplier/vendor end their response is 'when' and NEVER 'no' if it is physically possible unless they want to be DUMPED for someone else.

Personally, whenever I have a sheet that has a lot of white decals on a white background (i.e. #3003 Alien Invader and this kit,) I hold the sheet up to my work light and the white sections are defined.

Default Nice kit!

Jumpjet John,

I note you use a BT-70 without any plastic parts.

a BT-55

2 BT-60 which I presume is the 3 side tubes you cut.

Paper shrouds are fine for this kit so should be fine for a BT-70 Sprint 29mm too. Using EJ 2650 motor retention.

So, why didn't you laser cut the shrouds, and efficiently cut interfaced balsa fins and insert them individually in sets of 3 in kits to MASSIVELY improve balsa usage? You have roughly 45% waste.

Email me in clear on my real email and I will respond with a CAD file for efficient laser cut fins.

Jerry
