Probably bumped when being moved, would be my guess.

They USED to have an F-1 and a J-2 displayed inside Stennis in front of the old Visitor Center/museum, under a portcullis... They were tilted up at about a 45 degree angle so you could walk around the entire thing and see the upper end with all the piping and gas generator and turbine housings and all that (they were still well over your head but a little closer anyway!)

I don't know if those engines are still displayed inside there or if these are them. I bet the originals are still inside the fence, and these are some that were sitting in storage someplace.

They also had a Redstone inside the fence as well. I didn't see it from the bus when we went through, so maybe they plan to move it over... I dunno. It'd be nice if they moved the ASRB casing over too... since it's composite instead of steel, it should be fairly light compared to the steel SRB casings. I walked around under that thing a couple times back when you could actually go inside the grounds of Stennis...

Later! OL J R

Default LM and footprints

I went there today. I should have gone later when the school children field trips were done.

Here's two you didn't get.

Fred's LM for Apollo 19, his moon boot's prints and his autograph dated 5/15/00

As you exit the facility, there are these two signs.

Nice!

Yep the LM mock-up dates back to when it was just a rest area outside Stennis... They didn't move it any closer to the museum, so it's a bit of a hike out to it I think... Betty nor Keira were that interested in walking out to it and given the heat of the day, time, and need to get back on the road, I didn't either...

Nice shots! OL J R

Hike?

You drive to it.
When you leave Stennis, instead of going right to the main road, you take the a left to the rest area and park right in front of it! Twenty steps away and your under it!

I think they should add that to the bus tour and that's what I put on my comment card!
