I've been rebuilding my youthful favorites at BT-70 scale. Vigilante. Photon Disruptor. Seems like a nice size now.

Or BT20 with 13mm mounts. That's fun too. And maybe even more challenging.

I've got a 1284 shuttle from ebay. I lost the original to a cato. (And a couple of moves.) I'm waiting to see if my boy's high school can vacuform a new shuttle from casts before I build it. The plastic's a bit oxidized.

If the school can't, I'm sure Starport Sagitta can do it for you. Head on over and use the contact form, and we will see what we can do for you!

The Estes Star-Blazer has to be the most boring supposed-"futuristic" kit ever designed.
The others are good ones.

I remember when the NEW Scissor Wing Transport came out in 1974. Wow I wanted one.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to get two vintage builders kits on Ebay, 50 bucks for both. I built one and on the first flight it made a giant arc and crashed into the ground full speed. I haven't mustered the will to build the other one yet. Still not over it I guess.

I'd agree about the TK-31. Not so much on the original K-31. And getting that carved-from-a-block-of-balsa canopy right was quite a challenge "back in the day".

The one I did in my BAR period came out rather better than my first one...though I still have the first one (one of the few models I did back then that I do have).

Dittos. I built a Semroc Mars Lander last year. It's maiden flight will be at NSL 2017. I sure wish their launch site had a nice big grassy area for flying classics.

I've got the Centuri Saturn V, Saturn 1b, 1/45th scale Little Joe II, Mercury Redstone, Skylab, X-24 Bug, Hercules, Estes K-36 Saturn V, K-39 Semi Scale Saturn V, 2048 Saturn 1b, Missile Toe, Mercury Atlas, Astron Shrike and the K-25 Alpha. None of these have been started. Still working on Sheri's Saturn V.

Yes we do! I started a BMS Mars Snooper last month. But it's gone on the back burner as I work on other projects for NSL 2017. The other classic I want to build is the Astron Drifter. I lost mine on first flight as a kid because I put the 24" chute in it. Drifter is a really good name for the rocket. It drifted to some unknown distant location.

I have all the parts except fins for a BT-80 upscale using 24mm motors. Will probably build that after NSL.

Estes Orbital Transport
Centuri SST Shuttle 1
Centuri Long Tom
Centuri Laser-X
Estes Trident

That's all I can remember for now.

We'll see how it goes.

That's a great list! Brings back fond memories.

I am glad to know there are others out there recreating the rockets of their youth.

The way I see it every time you open a classic sealed kit to build you have hit the fountain of youth once that vintage air escapes !
