When I look at the '71 catalog back cover I see a gold shuttle on top of a white booster and that's my first choice. Your choice of a white shuttle on a silver booster is second. Or paint it chartreuse and puce - YOUR ROCKET YOUR RULES !

BTW those old fleet pictures are the coolest.

Here is the only other Centuri built shuttle. Still have not found a picture of white and yellow glider combo. So, large glider silver, small shuttle white, or large shuttle white small shuttle silver? I may have to flip a coin.

I think I like large white, small silver. No particular reason.

FWIW, here's how I painted my original Centuri Space Shuttle. The nose and belly of the shuttle are painted flat black to give it NASA shuttle look.

Eagle 3, looks great but I would like to stay with Centuri built colors. I do like the large silver glider and small white glider.

Just remember how some silvers will grab fingerprints for days, months, years, and some will haze with clearcoat. Choose your silver wisely. That's one reason why I went with white booster and yellow glider. I considered the "gold" mentioned on the 71 back cover to be yellow which was also part of my decision. However, it could have represented a pale orange like the Bell X-1. I doubt it was meant to be gold.

Forget the finish, Eagle3, that picture is awesome.

I finally decided on a color rocket my rocket, based off the built Space Shuttle rocket in the Centuri catalog. I did not go with yellow on the small shuttle because I could not find a Centuri built rocket with this color scheme. I will let the paint dry then begin adding the decals. The balsa sealer did a great job of filling the balsa grain since I did not use any primer, just went with the top coats to keep the weight down. I built another Puma rocket, this time using balsa sealer on the balsa parts and a better job of masking than my first Puma build, I really like this rocket. As you can see I still have to glue the black pods on the wings. Painting the pods separately made things a lot easier than trying to mask around them.
