The funniest mailbox incident I've ever heard of is at my sisters place in Atkinson NH.
After 9-11 remember the big anthrax scare where everyone was worried about the white powder. Well someone put a letter in her mailbox and there was white powder coming out of it so she called the police department who called the fire department who came down and, with a chainsaw, cut down her mailbox by sawing through the post. They put the whole thing inside two big clear plastic bags and heafted it on to the back of the fire truck. She said it was an odd sight seeing the firetruck with her mailbox on the back followed by a police escort driving down the street. It turned out to be just white powder after the tests came back and they never did find out who did it. It was probably some kids...

That happened once. My buddy didn't notice it was a slump block mailbox. Not sure how he didn't see that at 30mph in the dark leaning over the truck bed. Almost knocked him out of the truck. Remember the cartoons where they would hit a solid object and their whole body would go.....DOIIIIIINNNNGGGGG. LOL |

I gave up on that place after posting something along the lines of "Someone really needs to buy those rockets, drive them out to Black Rock and fly them at Balls" to this thread http://www.rocketryforumarchive.com...ead.php?t=49422 and having it pulled while other, more explicit comments were allowed to remain. It just quit being fun over there. Bill |

My friend had his own "run-ins" with another teenage driver, who would do "doughnuts" in his front yard at night (turning the car's steering wheel over hard-left or hard-right, then skidding the tires to rip up the grass and throw up dirt in two concentric circles in the yard). After the second such incident, he buried several lengths of carpet furring strips (thin wood strips) with nails protruding through them in his front yard, with the nails pointing up. When his unwelcome visitor arrived and started doing a doughnut, he stepped outside carrying his pistol. Seeing him, the teenage driver threw his car into reverse and backed up in a panic, puncturing all four tires on the nails in the furring strips. He retreated into the night driving on the rims, and my friend's front yard was never torn up again.

I gave up on that place what seems like YEARS ago. There is the inner circle, that can say ANYTHING they want and get a pass on it. It is the ONLY rocketry related website I've ever been to that has no joy. The mods are megalomaniacs. For the life of me, with the great people on this forum, I don't understand what people see in that place, other than the self anointed EXPERTS.

Yep. The inner circle can say anything, including belittling people, usually when they are offline. Then they make sure that the thread gets locked before the person can defend himself.

Ok, the funniest part is that they didn't delete or edit your posts, so now they are also contributing to the delinquency of a (potential) mailbox basebawler.
