Might have a pic of the fins gluing up with this method in one of my build threads-- if you want to do a search for it...

Later! OL JR

I'll search around. Thanks.

I have it listed in the for sale section too! I personally think this in the best jig on the market and hope it goes for a good price. I have a lot of hours in to building it and it works really nice. Y

Thanks for bidding on it and good luck!

Greetings!

As a new member of this group I thought I'd start by posting a link to my idea for a new and unique fin alignment jig that I had posted over on Rocketry Planet. I'm doing this rather than creating a new group of postings so as to avoid duplication of effort and also because the future of RP is uncertain.

http://www.rocketryplanet.com/forum...read.php?t=9089

And yes, I'm doing this in the hope that I might someday sell these contraptions to my fellow rocketeers and thereby make a financial killing. Social Security does not allow me to live in the lifestyle to which I've become accustomed.

What aligns the upper fin holding angle with the body tube?
I understand the V blocks but im not clear what in turn aligns the upper angles (dead parallel) with the body tube?

Thanks

There are a pair of 1" x 1" x 1/8" aluminum angles which run the length of the device and act to sandwich the fin being set in a dead vertical position. These aluminum angles are slotted and are positioned by 1) inserting fins or material the same thickness as a fin into the v-grooves which are cut into the aluminum cross angles upon which the long angles set and 2) by pinching these two angles together and tightening the wing nuts down.

Since each end of the device is a mirror image of the opposite end and the v-grooves are on line with both the center and long axis of the body tube, the fin will also be centered in both the longitudinal and radial directions.

Thanks for your interest.
