Wanted: 3D printed Centuri nose cone PNC-165

I'm looking for an STL file for the Centuri PNC-165 nose cone. I don't think there's a file of this cone but maybe one of you guys who has the ability to design it would be kind enough to do it?

PLEASE.

This nose cone just came up on TRF the other day: https://www.myminifactory.com/objec...ose-cone-113012

I knew about that one and I have printed that one but the designer didn't put the same canopy on it. That one has a square canopy and the one from Centuri has a pointed canopy in the front like in the picture. The Centuri canopy is the design I would like to see someone do.

The Mole, Esq:

I have a Sirius Rocketry Mold'in Oldies resin cast PNC-165 if that would help.

e-mail me at crussell51 at Hotmail dot com if interested and I will provide pictures.

I would give it a test print. I'm interested.
Can I send you a message for the file?

Green Dragon 10-18-2020 08:13 PM

ditto on the file, if you need test mules, doug. Let us know.

I did print the one from the link above, has a flat canopy, but rest looks good. Maybe someone with more skills than I could tweak that one to correct the canopy.

Thanks for all your efforts, just printed the fun nozzle pack parts fro my Fireflash clone and the hollow nozzles are going to be moch nicer than the resin cast Semroc ones I have.

Is it possible and not against the rules to attach a 1.1Mb stl file here?

dholvrsn 10-18-2020 08:47 PM

The heck with it! I just up and posted it at Thingiverse, warts, errors, and all.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4627832

I'm just in a little sour mood right now. A shop door that has been broken too long is a sore point. The repair shop that can't get the address right three times in a row isn't helping. To add insult to injury, the cable company broke nearly all of my email passwords when I tried to contact them and their chat bot is compulsively stupider than a post.

PS: The evening just keeps getting better as the stupid printer alternates between saying load paper when the tray is full and having a phantom jam....

Doug,

In the future, yes, you can upload stl files here. The system will accept uploads up to 2mb in size.

Here's a test print of the Centuri 165 nose cone.
I thought it came out pretty good. A couple of coats of primer and it should smooth out OK.

Off the top of my head there are the Quasar, ESV Raven, USS America, and the SR-71.

Otherwise, it looks like I may have to up the polygon count....

Is it possible for you to take a side profile pic and post it?

Length of the nose cone with and without the shoulder?
