WANTED: Hawk's Hobby Super Orbital Transport
Hello All
I'm looking to purchase a Hawk's Hobby Super Orbital Transport KIT if anyone here has one they are willing to sell. Not interested in any already built. Back when they were in production, I bought Two of the kits. About 7 years ago I sold one of them and kept the other to build. Unfortunately, the second one I had has somehow disappeared ! :(  I do not know how this happened as I keep all my kits in my hobby room. Some were in storage for a while, but this kit was never with those. I know both Estes and Semroc are bringing out Upscaled Orbital Transports in the future, but they are both different sizes from the Hawk's kit. The Hawks kit is BT-60/BT-55 based for the Booster/Orbiter respectively. My understanding is the new Estes kit will be BT-55/BT-50 based (smaller than Hawk's) and the Semroc kit will be BT-80/BT-70 based (REALLY BIG) which is larger than the Hawk's kit. I intend on getting both of those, but REALLY want to replace the Hawk's kit that I somehow LOST from my Hobby room. I have even looked in the boxes of unbuilt R/C airplane kits to make sure it did not somehow get stashed incorrectly in one of those boxes. |
I stand corrected and got it wrong.
ST20 and ST16 based, not 80/70. That's still larger than the Hawk's kit though. |
Must......
not...... say..... it..... ARRRGGGG! Scratch build it! :D |

Go AWAY. :D I am more than capable of doing that if I wanted the bother, which I don't. ONLY the kit I'm looking for will do. |

I tried, but I couldn't hold back. :chuckle: . |
Yeah, yeah... Big help, pal.
Somehow I figured YOUR suggestion before you posted it. :D  |
Anyone have this kit and willing to sell ??
|
I have the upscaled templates (BT-60 sized) I did 12 years ago. Half the fun is cutting the big pieces out of basswood. The smaller pieces are a piece of cake using balsa.
Yeah, you could get them laser-cut, but that would ruin the experience. The other half of the fun is sanding. BUT .. you could send all the pieces to “tbzep” … you know, he says he loves sanding. :p |
Thanks, but not needed.
Have located a kit. |
