Not technically "new" Estes engines.
Estes came out with 13mm engines in 1971. Among them were 2 and 6 second delay engines. Estes dropped them in the late 70's or early 80's due ot lack of Sales. Art Rose contracted with Estes to make A3-2's and 6's, which Art sold as "HO Sales Company". That ended, then Ed LACroix of Apogee picked up the ball. Then Barry Tunick become in charge of Estes and killed that. He did not want "a competitor" to be the sole supplier of any engines made by Estes, but also did not CARE about bringing those engines back. And also that was yet another time Tunick did a VERY petty thing that actually cost Estes some money. Now that the Langford family owns Estes, they decided to bring those engines back. |
