Starship Enterprise 25th Anniversary with #1276 Sticker?
2 Attachment(s)
My apology for not being active on the forum recently. Finishing up full time China job and moving into coin dealing. Now have some free time to get back to Estes model rockets.
Last week, someone sent an email stating they had a Starship Enterprise 25th anniversay kit with product #1276 rather than #1275 as listed in 1992 catalog. I asked for images and low and behold, I was sent images of typical black 25th box but with a printed sticker stating Skill Level 4 and #1276 over the position of the box printed #1275. Any insight would be appreciated as first time this variation has been called out (at least to my attention). Need to decide if a special entry in the kit database is warranted based on the potential reasons for the special #1276 sticker. Thanks Gerry |
What were you doing in China? My company has quite a few folks over there building 2 nuke plants.

My mint kit says 1275 and it's not at an angle on the box. I'd speculate that the angled 1276 sticker was either a 2nd run of the kit or maybe a 2nd run of just the box. Might have been a different package producer but changing the number is a little odd regardless. Maybe John can find out. Randy www.vernarockets.com |
Current owner believes this kit was issued in 1991 before the catalog release in 1992. I'm at a lost on this matter and would appreciate some help.
BTW, the kit is for sale. |
I could be WAY wrong, but I seem to remember that there was a version of the Enterprise and the Klingon ship that came with SOME of the finishing supplies... Paint, glue etc. Could this be one of them?

While anything is possible, wouldn't it be more logical that the the 1275 kit was issued first regardless of contents? Just asking. Randy www.vernarockets.com |
#1276 is the Antares kit.
My guess is that the sticker was added to indicate the kit's skill level and whoever printed it got the product number wrong. -- Roger |
Here is another example of the 1276 label ... the owner also states it was purchased in 1991.

He's right! It's the re-issue with three bottles of paint and a brush. I believe it was issued before the holidays. |
