Jay's Prometheus

Here's Prototype I of my Prometheus from June 2006.

The other 3 photos are from Bill E. "Wallyum's" launch about a year later on June 30, 2007.

BARCLONE's own Craig McGraw, as well as John Thro and Andrew Scott, have all built and flown (I *think!*) their own 18mm versions of this model.

Per Bill (not Wallyum)'s request:

I've got to rehab mine. The ST-5 connector tube became crimped after one of its flights, and not due to hangar rash or landing impact, either. I'm a bit nervous about using anything over an A8 in power; I think if I get around to building a second one, I'll use a 13mm mount. It really doesn't need more power than that for good flights.

Ready To Build?

The Ready To Build (RTB) version is much heavier, but I'm afraid that adding a couple of 13mm engine casings inside the ST-5 tube would make it REALLY heavy. :o

The Prometheii are a couple of more projects currently on the back burner.

What, you're leaving out the SLS version on 24/29mm motors?

Tau Zero 01-05-2012 11:52 PM

Is that a TORC launch? I don't recognize that field. Haven't flown around houses since the Lebanon YMCA days. :D

Nope--Harrodsburg KY, probably 2 years ago. That was an official beta of an SLS version Jay was (is?) thinking about selling.

 How far off of US 27?
I have one of these kits. Once my FSI mania wears off it's first to go in the build pile.
