If you want to see some video Randy has a built Semroc Pro Cherokee on hand at the Manufacturer’s Forum during NARAM - posted on the NAR Youtube channel.

Considering more than half the SEMROC line has been out of stock for several months now, if you're interested in this kit you'd better grab it. It could be months before its restocked! Not sure what is up with the SEMROC lines. Still suffering from supply chain issues due to COVID? I'm just speculating.

Balsa for nose cones is a problem. Randy said so in the manufacturers forum at NARAM 62, available on YouTube.

During the YouTube video Randy stated that due to availability and increasing cost issues getting balsa that he is currently installing an SLA 3D printer to make nose cones, transitions/adapters and tail cones for the Semroc kits in order to get them back into production.

I noticed in addition to most of the Semroc kits being out of stock, the prices have went up quite a bit also.

This Pro Cherokee would be more than $100 shipped for a basic BT-80 sized rocket...cool kit, but at that price I'll pass...I mean it's more than an Estes Saturn V for cryin' out loud....

The Astron Omega is now $50 for just a basic 2-stage BT-60 kit ? C'monn Noww...

Thanks for this info. I watched the video and couldn't help wonder if we're seeing the end of balsa nose cones.

There are several eRockets/Semroc kits that are no longer on my list, due to high prices.

The USS America (BT60) is now $69.99 (and not in stock) and the UFO Invader (BT55) is $59.99 ( in stock). I am not sure if they have been priced like this for awhile, but that’s a lot of money for a model rocket, even a “Super Kit” model rocket. At this point I’d scratch-build my own, maybe even upscale them. I have the decal files for the Centuri originals.

Yeah, I was flying these long before Semroc introduced them. Neither is a tough build. The ESS Raven and SSV Scorpion are going to be tough once I decide to start hacking away at them, but I do have the parts gathered. At this point the USS America is finished, but toasty inside from a C11 CATO. The UFO Invader just needs the vanes around the motor mount, a coat of gloss black, then final silver.

I'm still looking forward to that upscaled Semroc Orbital Transport.
I'd be willing to go $100 on that one, but not some plain, basic, 3FNC BT-80 kit, and the original Cherokee-D is one of my all-time favorites.
If Balsa prices are so high now, start using ANOTHER WOOD even though it would be heavier.
ISSUE SOLVED.
