New Design -- Centuri Achilles 1.00X

I *could* blame Bill "Vanel" Cooke for inspiring this one. ;)

From the "back pages" of Centuri's Model Rocket Design Manual (1970):

https://plans.rocketshoppe.com/pubs...enMRDM/MRDM.pdf

Don't forget to print out the fin template page at "actual size." ;)

Also note that the nose cone shown in the plans (PDF p. 15) is actually Centuri PNC-74, *not* PNC-76. Semroc's substitute is BC-734P.

Enjoy!

Not exactly a new design . . . but that came out very nicely!

Kind of a Skyhook class model, but as usual with Centuri more modern and sportier looking.

Stefan,

I agree, *not* actually new, but Craig considers a design "new" if it hasn't been A) seen before *or* B) RockSimmed. ;) :D

I suppose you could go "even bigger" and experiment with different engine (motor) sizes to get some more desireable performance, as well.

Glad you liked it!

Looks pretty cool, but is that one of the variations of the
CENTURI Sky Devil ? Nope close but no cookie.

(Phil Hartman voice) "Yes, Bill. It's all about... *you.*"

Actually, I noticed that the RockSim file I used for the Semroc BC-734P was slightly shorter (3.0") than the original Centuri PNC-74 (3.4"). So here's the CORRECTED version  :o of the Centuri Achilles.

Cheers,
