The interesting thing, as you probably know, is that that platform could be had with rear wheel drive. While the Toronado and El Dorado came in FWD on the e-body, the Riviera, which shared the e-body, had RWD. So this was a very early example of a platform that could be assembled either way.
One of the car guys in my hometown in Kentucky had a red 63 Riviera - it was one of those cars your coveted at first glance
And, like most other cars, it had a 12V battery in it that you could use to power your launch controller with
