Default Losing Someone

Today, we lost a close family friend who had been battling heart failure for quite some time. She leaves behind her husband of 60+ years, a daughter and SIL, a 60 year old severely disabled son that she and her husband have cared for in-home for his full life, a grand-daughter and two great-granchildren.

It will be verrrry difficult for the husband to continue care in-home for the son alone, so for those who may be so inclined, I ask for prayer simply for the Smith family at this time.

At these times, one of my go-to songs of support and understanding is this one by the Southern Gospel group The Inspirations from about 2008, called If You Only Knew. Some here may have heard this before. If you have not, give it a listen and focus on the words. It is a rather straightforward song, with no particularly fancy arrangement nor instrumentation. I know some here may not be a fan of southern gospel music nor of like faith. I understand. But for those who may wish to listen, it may be this song speaks to you as well.

All prayers for the family very much appreciated.

Earl

So sorry for your loss.
I lost my father last summer in July and my mother in 98.
Other than one brother, I have no immediate family left.
Dad battled a rare form of cancer for 5 years, which is almost 100% certain to be caused by Agent Orange exposure in Thailand while in the USAF during Vietnam.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, AGITATION, CHAOS, TURMOIL, FIASCOS, AGGRAVATION, INSTIGATION, NUISANCE-ACTION, and HAVOC !

Thanks GH. I know it is tough letting them go, which is why that song kinda helps (at least to me) better understand, within my faith, where they have gone and how they are doing. We miss them here greatly, but, as the song says, IF WE ONLY KNEW how they are in their new state, we would not be near as sad.

I really do feel though for the surviving father and the disabled son at this point. That is going to be hard, hard, hard, and I fear for where the disabled son will eventually end up. All he has basically ever known is home and mom and dad. Again, prayers appreciated.

Earl

Positive thoughts and prayers.
My Dad just had a large memorial brick placed at our local Veterans memorial this past month.
Because of the link to Agent Orange exposure his widow is getting a large retroactive disability payment, which does little good now. Money is nice but no amount replaces LIFE.
