I’m not sure there are brass bits, since brass is so soft. I turn brass on my wood lathe, using HSS lathe tools. The picture shows a tool handle I turned, with a brass plumbing hex nut used as a ferrule to strengthen the handle. Some exotics woods I’ve turned are more difficult to cut than brass.
One solution may be to use a piece of brass tubing to drill out the core. Perhaps cutting an angled tip, to prevent clogging, and also to make it easier to sharpen the tip, might work well.

I've been having a great deal of fun using A10-0Ts (and some old 1/2A3-0Ts) in this: https://estesrockets.com/product/007276-checkmate/ Don't believe the "over 900 feet" bit, though. More like 750 (when carrying a very small altimeter). Or ~400 feet A10-0T to 1/2A3-4T. Thirty-nine flights so far on mine.

And I thought I had an insane number of 13mm motors! Its an attractive little rocket. If I don’t ever build one, I’ll at least steal its color scheme.

Mini motor packs are $5.99 at Hobby Lobby these days. Actually all 1/4A to B motor packages are that price. So...I have been restocking from time to time.

I know it was a "brass colored" bit I used in the past to core motors that was labeled non-sparking tool.
