Looks great!

Have you ever tried Tamiya masking tape? I’ve used it with numerous brands of paint — lacquers and enamels. Never had a leak under the tape, or lifted paint. Lifts cleanly to produce very crisp lines. Hobby Lobby sells it (mine carries 6mm and 10mm), and you can use 40% off coupon. I’ve also found very narrow 2mm and 3mm width, great for curves, at hobby shops and on Amazon. There is also 18mm, but for wide tape to hold paper masks to the Tamiya, I just use regular tape.

Thanks for the compliments!
Lee, I appreciate the tip. I'll look for that tape and give it a try.

+1 on the Tamiya tape. It works great.

And +1 on the upscale...it looks great, too! Your original looks like my very aged Centuri Screaming Eagle. The original natural finish white body tube now very much shows it’s age, nearly 44 years after its first flight.

I've still got my Challenger 1 too. It looks exactly like yours. It was my first flown rocket. I had a couple Akela-1 boy scout rockets, but the Challenger 1 was first on the pad for me. Nice job on the upscale.

I still have an original Screaming Eagle and I bought a Challenger 1 off of eBay years ago that looked just like yours as well. The builder had used white glue to do the plastic to paper adhesion, so all I had to do was pull it apart and put a new tube in place.
Love the upscale. Now that I think about it, I'm overdue for a new upscale project.

I have six extra text stickers left over to fit the BT-60.
Free to anyone who may be interested in building one of these someday.
