Default Series 8 and Series 8F

Here's the next set of nose cones for Series 8 and 8F.

Not included:

BC-834
BC-838
BC-857

Addendum: One change to this file -- I had the wrong OD for the 8F28

File Type: csv NCDATA_Series 8_and_8F.csv (3.0 KB, 79 views)

OK - spent some more time trying this. If I right click the file, then do a Save As (using the CSV format) it seems to work. Is there an easier way?

Same basic method, you still rename the file as "NCDATA", but you put it into the "..\Data\new" folder instead. RockSim 8 will import the CSV file from here. It was changed in R9 to "..\DataImport".

Default Semroc Series 13 - Rocksim Parts

Here are the Semroc series 13 nose cones for review.

Not included:

BC-1340 Flared Ogive
BC-1340D Flared Ogive-Drilled

Let me know if they look ok. I did notice there is not really an option for "rounded ogive" in RS just standard ogive. I have started a "wish" list for possible program updates. So far based on our part creation efforts.

1. Additional nose cone shapes: spherical and rounded ogive.
2. Nose cone sub-assemblies.

... Bill

Edit: Based on Craig's recommendation, I changed Rounded Ogive shaped cones to Elliptical. Attached parts file has been updated accordingly.

If anyone is interested, I'm NOT using RockSim to input this data. I'm using OpenOffice "Calc", spreadsheet module. I just have to remember to not use any quotation marks when I save the CSV file.

This method speeds up the data entry about 10x...

Just use "elliptical" in the 'Shape' column. This is only used for approximations in the rendered output. It's the closest shape to what Carl shows on the web pages...

Use "Sears-Haack" for the "Secant-Ogive" shape...

Craig - same here, except I'm using Microsoft Excel. Definitely an easier approach.

I'm gonna tackle Series 16 next.

Thanks Craig. I updated the Series 10/11 and 13 part files and updated accordingly in the original posts.
