Didn't we cover this about 2 years ago in a build thread?
Just to add a little more murkiness to the situation, does the Tomahawk fins appear to have non-swept trailing edges? |

It was covered in a thread called "1/10 Ute" . . . This makes it UTE-TOMAHAWK specific. FINS : Non-Swept . . . Is it possible those are IQSY Tomahawk fins ? ( see pics ) NASA photo : L-64-9827 is of an IQSY Tomahawk on the pad. Other than the bad image in "Model Rocketry" magazine, I am unable to find any clear image of an IQSY Tomahawk. Dave F. Some of the things you posted are of the "Paiute-Tomahawk" variety.
Specifically the pics that show some sort of "sidewinder style canards" on the payload near the nose tip. Will you be starting a dedicated thread on that or combining it with this one? Here are some close-ups of the Ute-Tomahawk. The vertical pic is now in the correct orientation. The previously posted same pic is flipped horizontally. CLUE: The Thiokol stenciling orientation on the booster can just barely be recognized. |

Chris, Do you have any detailed information on the various payload sections ? I had assumed that they were interchangeable, since they were a component of the Tomahawk. I went back and removed the "finned" payload sections. I think a separate PAIUTE TOMAHAWK thread would be best, for clarity. Dave F. Last edited by Ez2cDave : 10-23-2022 at 08:57 PM. |
