Way too much building, Gordy !

I no longer have a full scale boat, but the last one I had was a Hydro Stream Vector powered by a snarly Mercury Outboard with a 26 pitch ET cut stainless Chopper prop.
Thing was scary fast.

No longer have interest in owning a boat. "BOAT" is actually an acronym- Break Out Another Thousand !

A buddy of mine has a 38' Sea Ray motor Yacht.
Powered by twin inboard Chevy 502 big-blocks. Burns 1 gal of fuel for every mile traveled.
Holds 400gal of fuel.

Many years ago I messed around with Offshore big boats like Scarabs, Cigarettes, and Ocean Express racing Catamarans. Got annoyingly expensive.

Several friends have acquired and then sold their boats over the years. All of them attest to the old saw "The two best days of my life were when I bought my boat and when I sold it...."

Well, it’s like this for me...

The sailboat I built for my brother-in-law who passed away over a year ago...I built it so, I inherited it. The cost was all on my brother-in-law so it was free. It is for sale!

I built the canoe next for me.
Well, the native Americans are wrong on this one. A canoe and Lake Huron is a bad idea. So I sold it. It cost about $200 in material. I sold it to my neighbor for $2,500.

The rowboat is it’s replacement. Cost was about $300 in material. It’s my fishing boat and I love it.

So to me, boats are basically free if you build them yourself. I am sad when I sell one of my boats but the money makes I OK. I put a lot into them.

Besides, I have to admit, I am addicted to wood.

Being addicted to wood is probably one of the safest/healthiest addictions one can have.

Very nice model, Gordy!

This forum needs a "like" button, BTW.

That’s a beautiful model Gordy! It looks like it could be a movie prop.
