Default Made some rocket stands

With short fins and engine hooks my rockets won't stand by themselves. So I went to the dollar store and bought a package of 3 hexagonal boxes and some dowels. Had to cut a slot for the hook.

Now I can put them on my nightstand

Really cool idea. Is that the whole box or just the lid?

The "boxes" are just open. So yeah, like lids or trays.

$2 for 3

Not bad. I made mine from wood plaques from Hobby Lobby in 3 sizes (4", 5", and 6.75") with a 1/2" inch hole drilled in the middle, 1/2" dowel, and an expended engine to fit into the rocket's motor mount. Length of the dowel varies, depending on the model it is to hold (I aim for 1/2" to 1" clearance between the wood and rocket fins).

The expended engine allows the engine hook to nearly but not quite, de-compress while on the stand.

For some reason the forum won't display photos from Imgur, no matter what I try.

I find the proliferation of display stands for model rockets to be a useful trend.

Found "Mini Wavy Plates" at the dollar tree by the wedding stuff , 12 for a dollar. Flip them over put a piece of label paper on the back, glue on a spent motor or a yellow spacer and you got a nice stand for smaller rockets. Painting the inside is optional.
