Nammo 155 mm ramjet projectile
Hello All,
Nammo, the Norwegian armaments and missile rocket motors manufacturer, has developed a 155 mm diameter, solid fuel ramjet artillery projectile. It would be a good scale subject for a ducted rocket powered, flying scale model rocket, having four small forward fins around the Talos-like ramjet air intake and four "wrap-around" rear fins at the tail end of the projectile. The recovery system--a streamer or a parachute, depending on the model's scale--could be housed in the ramjet center body, whose nose cone would be ejected forward as in a regular 3FNC/4FNC model rocket. Also: The actual ramjet projectile's range--up to 150 kilometers (see: http://www.mynewsdesk.com/no/nammo/...t-engine-384591 )--would give it potential as a Met Jet-like (see: https://www.oldrocketforum.com/showthread.php?t=18268 ) meteorological ramjet-"rocket" and as a small sounding "rocket" as well; its mass production could give it a quite reasonable unit price for such applications. Below are links to videos of--and more information on--the Nammo 155 mm solid fuel ramjet projectile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vIPNElDkns https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOC2xaxjfCk https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf...&sclient=psy-ab I hope this material will be useful.
