Default A new not-quite-finished scratchbuild: 5.3:1 Sport Scale Pencil (Skywriter Deluxe)

This is basically finished except the Lexan fins are not installed yet, due to some ongoing issues exacerbated by the coronavirus situation. My willpower has failed me and I'm sharing pictures now because it's cool, and who knows when it's going to be finished finished.

Rocket is BT55-based, about 32" long, 24mm mount. Build thread is over at TRF. This has been a very fun project.

Unpainted balsa for the win!

Several coats of CA but that's it.

Just to tie this one up, I *finally* got the polycarbonate fins on. Looked better without them, but I think they'll disappear well enough on the pad and in flight.

The decals and chrome ferrule really set it apart. Nice work!

Thanks, it was really a super-fun build. I can't think of much more I could have done with it other than (a) crimp marks on the ferrule, which I didn't think I could execute cleanly, or (b) tooth-marks on the body, which I just consciously chose not to do.
