Do you know why the new kit has a"projected altitude" of 150 feet while the old kit has a "max altitude" of 100 ft?

The new Estes kit is the same as the old one with some refinements to the wraps and new packaging.
The 150' figure is baloney on a D12-3....maybe in a vacuum with zero air resistance, but I don't know anyone with those flying conditions.
More realistic is the 100' quoted, which is barely enough to get recovery deployment. It does NOT fly decently on a D12-3 and I would NEVER do it.
Listed below are some 24mm motors that WILL fly the Estes Saturn V decently; ALL are composite Single-use or RMS 24 reloads from Aerotech.

E15-4W single use
E18-4W RMS24
E28-4T RMS24
E30-4T single use
F12-3J RMS24 (zero to LIGHT wind ONLY)
F24-4W RMS24
F32-4T single use, Estes "E" length
F35-4W RMS24-60 Estes "E" length case

The ONLY way I'd fly the Estes Saturn V on a D12-3 is by using THREE of them in a cluster.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !
