1/45 Centuri Little Joe II
Can't believe this kit went for just $56.00 tonight, Wow! I had a bid of 55.00 but couldn't go any higher, just won a bid on a DJI Inspire 1 controller.

That LJII has been listed for over a week with a BIN price of $80. It was hard to believe it sat all that time without someone buying it. In past years (before the Estes re-issue), it would not have lasted more than a few minutes at that price before someone snatched it up.
This one had some wrinkling on the chrome body wrapper and it did detract from it some, but it was not too terribly bad. I didn’t need another, but at that final selling price, it was quite a deal. Earl

I didn't see or know about it.
Would have gladly paid the $80.

I wonder if the market for old rockets will bottom out as the boomers who collect these things age out of population.

One would think that, at some point, this will happen. But, it is hard to know when that might occur. I suspect we are, still, some time away from that, as a number of rocketeers just in their mid-to-latter 50s still collect these kits and may continue to do so for another solid decade. Another big factor in the collection market, like most any collection market, is overall economic health. If we hit another early 2000s recession or worse, the 2008 financial meltdown, one could possibly see collecting drying up badly or collections being liquidated at almost wholesale prices. But yes, eventually, one would think that once most all of us who remember or had these kits as kids are gone or too old to collect, the prices could fall a decent amount. Earl

I'm in my late 40's and have no intention of shrinking the collection.
I actually build "doubles" and ones I get opened or cheap.

I would think that time of year is a factor to. A lot of people will have their funds going in another direction at this time.
I got my Inspire 1 controller, C version, the newest and considered the best one for $100 with free shipping. I had been trying to win a bid on one all year, but they get up to $200 plus. I finally won one Wednesday I do also believe the point about us older ones passing away will at some point have an effect to because, just think, how many rockets like the 1/45 Little Joe matter to less say a 20 year old person today? These rockets only matter to those that were around when they first came out. I'm sure there is always an exception Also, here are two more sold at low bids, see attachments
