Default Astron trademark history

I was curious what the origin of the "Astron" name on a lot of the old Estes kit designs was.

I think we've talked about this in the past. Seems to me Vern decided it sounded spacey and liked it.

Basically, Vern thought the rockets should have a brand name rather than his name. I suppose Astron is a portmanteau of astro and electron, a couple of words that were popular at the time. The club that Estes established in their local community was called the Astron Rocket Society. So they obviously had full intention to push Astron as a brand name/trade name, but that obviously petered out after the first ten years.
